I recently created a poll on Facebook asking what the biggest digital marketing pain points were going into the New Year.
Drumroll please…the most selected item was email marketing. How in the world do emails convert to dollars for my cause!?
Your email strategy is just as important as your social media plan. Yep, that’s right. I said it.
With emails, someone has given you access into their private inbox. You’re a VIP!
With social media, even if they’ve selected to follow you, it’s still not guaranteed for that post to reach them.
Emails should be used for more than an invite to a gala, your summit, or an annual donation ask.
Here’s a few ideas to get you brainstorming:
- Work on developing a welcome email campaign funnel
- Plan out an email marketing calendar (this should sync up to your social media content calendar)
- Draft a list of 25 email subject lines with different categories (to inform, create compassion, fundraise, teach)
- Take a look at your own inbox – which emails do you find yourself opening? (not counting the ones from your boss)
